wife of 41 years, and has two children, Brendan who practices law with him. Their
younger son, John Robert, is the owner and operator of a Columbia SC restaurant
known as The Flying Biscuit.
Kevin graduated from Clemson University in 1979 and the University of South Carolina
School of Law in 1982. Upon his graduation from law school, he served as a Law Clerk
for one year to Honorable Ralph King Anderson, Jr. Since that time, he has been in
private practice, with an emphasis on plaintiff’s personal injury litigation and mediations.
For many years, Kevin has spoken at seminars around the State on issues such as
civility and ethics in the practice of law, alternative dispute resolution, and various trial
and litigation tactics. He has also been lead trial counsel in numerous cases that have

In 2019, he was inducted into the American College of Trial Lawyers, an international
invitation only organization that emphasizes excellence in jury trial abilities and a
reputation for exceptional ethics and civility in the practice of law. Membership in this
organization is limited to less than 1% of the state’s lawyers.
He is a member of the American Board of Trial Attorneys, and for more than a decade
has been named a South Carolina Super Lawyer. In 2020, he was awarded the Ralph
King Anderson, Jr. Award, which is an award voted on by the local Bar Association
members, and is in recognition of lawyers who have made significant efforts to improve
the bar and the community.
Kevin and his family, for over 20 years, were the proud owners of a wooden bat summer
baseball team known as the Florence Red Wolves.
